Deepdene to Grow Seeds From Space!

Deepdene to Grow Seeds From Space!

Tim Peake is Britain’s first European Space Agency astronaut. He launched into space on 20th November and is living on the International Space Station (ISS) conducting a programme of experiments. He will bring back with him some packets of seeds which are part of his experiments.

Year 6 are taking part in the Astro Challenge to earn digital badges in connection with the Tim Peake launch.

As part of the educational spinoffs that Tim Peake, and the European Space Agency have envisioned, other year groups have been making fantastic rockets and having a virtual tour of the International Space Station (ISS).

Over the next few weeks Year 6 will deliver presentations to the other year groups and show experiments and videos.

Mrs Summers/Science Teacher has managed to ensure that Deepdene will have the amazing opportunity of receiving a packet of the seeds that Tim Peake will be bring back with him from space! The children will then do controlled experiments with the seeds.

Below is the letter from Tim Peake!
